Think Pink

Do you ever just wish you could be a little girl again? Its so funny to think about what you wanted when we were young? Or what you thought adulthood would be like? Last week my parents had a fire in their barn, where I had some of my childhood memorabilia stored and I have been going through some of what was saved and its so much fun to look back. I loved the color pink when I was young.. and still do - although I used to think that I wanted my whole house to be pink (and purple) when I grew up. Childhood expectations are not always exactly realistic... but we can still have fun remembering them and still keep that girlish spirit alive in some ways. Here are some lovely pink photos for today that make me happy. I hope they make you smile as well.

Favorite Foto Friday - Holi Colorful India!

My sister is in India right now for the next month and I have been hearing bits and pieces about her travels and adventures. Although I love to travel, I have yet to go to this part of the world and I'm so eager. When I think of India, two things immediately come to mind for me - the colors and the festivals.

Recently, I came across the incredible photography of Poras Chaudhary. Some of my favorite photos of his are of Holi - The Festival of Colors. Holi is celebrated as a welcoming of Spring, and a celebration of the triumph of good over evil. What that translates to in action is an enthusiastic dropping of inhibitions, as people chase each other and playfully splash colorful paint, powder and water on each other. When I go to India, I'm definitely going to make sure its during this festival because do I ever want to join this celebration!

Poras is a freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Northern India. He is a completely self-taught photographer and is best known for his color work and unique compositions. If you want to find out more about him or buy his prints, check out his website

Have a Happy and Colorful Friday!

A Whole Lotta Color

Have you seen these 'colour-in' dresses by Berber Soepboer?

You literally take supplied markers and create your own look

Ok.. So maybe you don't want to color it while its on, but how about having a party?

Its available to you for only 238 euro.

This is somewhat of a similar concept to the 'flexibility dress' by Fernando Brízio.

by placing colored felt-tip pens in the pockets of the dress its appearance changes over time.
within an hour - to one and a half hours the colored ink bleeds into the fabric and creates a one-off design for each occasion. the owner can then clean the dress and color it in a different way for each time they wear it.

I would love to get one of these dresses!! I think that they are just so fun and fabulous. But the only problem is that I can't find out where they are sold. I've searched the internet. If anyone can lead me in the right direction, I would so greatly appreciate it.

All things orange...

Orange is not usually my favorite color, but when it comes to fall, I just can't get enough of it. The trees everywhere are bursting forth in orange everywhere I look. Here are some more fun and lovely orange inspirations for you. It's such a cheerful color, isn't it?
